象の鼻テラスが、クリエイティブな街づくりを推進する世界各地の港町との文化交流を通じて、都市間のサステナブルな関係構築を目指すポート・ジャーニー・プロジェクト。一つ目の交流の地として、横浜港と貿易協力提携を結ぶメルボルンから、アーティストのプルー・クロームが来日し、３週間の滞在制作による日本初個展を開催します。
オーストラリア国内を中心に活動するクロームは、光や色を用いて空間そのものを変容する体感型の作品を発表しています。毎日繰り広げられる個々の体験や行為の積み重なりの延長線上にアートがある語るクロームは、港町をつなぐ「海」をイメージさせる色彩や光などでテラス空間を視覚的に変え、人々を呼び込むことで作品化を試みます。期間中は、パフォーミングアーツ、ワークショップなど多数のプログラムを実施。来場者やアーティストたちの創造力や体験を重ねて、空間を成長、変化させる様をドキュメントしていきます。
夏の横浜らしい清々しさを称えた展示とともに、アートの見方・感じ方を変える体験をしに、ぜひ足をお運びください。
プルー・クローム プロフィール
メルボルン在住のアーティスト。
オーストラリア国内を中心にアートのみならず環境科学の分野でも活動している。
近年では、光や色が人間の感受性を刺激するメカニズムを利用して、現象学的な観点から鑑賞者とアートオブジェの相互関係を探求する作品を制作している。
光と色を用いて、時空間の連続性や重なりを強調し、鑑賞者の知覚を刺激するインスタレーションを展開すると共に、その様子をドキュメントした写真の発表も行っている。

PORT JOURNEYS: a project by ZOU-NO-HANA TERRACE with the goal of building and sustaining inter-city relations through cultural exchange among port cities of the world.
The first exchange in the project is with Melbourne, an Australian port city having trade relations with Yokohama and home of Prue Crome. Crome comes to ZOU-NO-HANA TERRACE for her first exhibit in Japan, which will feature a three-week on-site work.
Crome, active throughout her native Australia, will be presenting her “experiential” work that transforms physical space through the use of light and colour.
Crome, explains that art can be in the accumulation of individual experiences and activities that take place through one’s day-to-day life. She will attract people by visually transforming the terrace through color and light that conjure the feeling of the very sea that connects the port cities.
A number of performing arts and workshop programs will take place during the exhibit. The transformation of the space by Crome will be documented as the creativity and experiences of visitors and artist alike overlap.

Prue Crome Profile
Prue Crome is an artist residing in Melbourne, Australia.
Crome is active in her art practice in Australia, also working in the field of environmental sciences. In recent years, her practice has come to center on the phenomenological interrelationship of the viewer to the objects and space around them, manipulating light and colour as mechanisms for heightening perceptions of space and time. She experiments with the transformations taking place by means of colour and light by mapping their shifts and changes over time and by inserting experiences of one site and time onto another.
