なにと出会いましたか？
創作体験ワークショップ“Elephant’s Fantastic Journey”では、参加者それぞれが出会った生物を描いてモビールにしてゆきます。
【ART LAB OVA プロフィール】
スズキクリと蔭山ヅルによるアートプロジェクト。
1996年に活動を開始し、2001年横浜桜木町に「13坪のアートセンター」を開館。2010年9月、横浜唯一の独立系映画館シネマ・ジャック&ベティと連携するため、若葉町に移転し、「横浜パラダイス会館」を開館。
OVAはOutsiders Various Artの略。こども、若年貧困層、障害者、在日外国人など社会的なマイノリティーに目を向け、彼ら／彼女らとの関係の中から、展覧会企画、上映会、カフェ、パーティー、ライブ、ワークショップなど様々なプロジェクトを行っている。
「生存」の問題と「表現」の問題を切り離すことなく同時に施行し、複合的な社会の現実に対して芸術ができることを見極め、それを日常生活の現場において実践する。
◆過去の主な活動
2000年 「‐しょうがいのある人と商店街がつくるまち‐おでかけアート展覧会」（伊勢佐木町モール他）
2005年 EU・日本創造都市文化事業参加、文部科学省こどもの居場所づくり事業参加。
2006年 「むせかえる世界」展示（横浜美術館エントランス）、「むせかえる基金」を砂山典子と設立
2007年 「『近江八幡お茶の間ランド』にちょっと寄ってくれはらへん？…ふつうの町のキュートな
日常…」、企画（ボーダレスアートNO-MA）
2009年 「異文化×異世代ミックス・ジュース『横浜下町パラダイスまつり』」を年一回開催開始
2009年 「横浜国際映像祭（CREAM）」参加

◆ART LAB OVAの関連展示について
港町の特性から、多様な文化が共存し、非定住者も多く暮らす「横浜」。
本展展示に関連して、アウトサイダー達に目を向け、多岐にわたる活動を行っているART LAB OVAが、横浜在住の日本、韓国、中国、フィリピンなどにルーツを持つこどもたちに、flyingCityと類似する手法で、ワークショップを行いました。
「象となり、宇宙を旅する」というテーマから子供達が想像して描いた、見知らぬ星で出会った生き物たちを大きな布にプリントした成果物《Elephant’s Fantastic Journey》を本展会場に展示いたします。
生物機械ターミナル化した「象の鼻テラス」内で、シンボルである生き物《時をかける象（ペリー）》は、生物が描かれた布で覆われ、目には見えない横浜の発展の歴史と多層性を伝えるメッセンジャーとなり、生物機械そのものなのかもしれません。

The Art Projects of Zulu Kageyama and Kuri Suzuki.
Outsiders Various Art (OVA) first appeared in 1996 and in 2001 opened the 13 Tsubo Art Center in Sakuragi-cho. They move to Wakaba-cho for collabolating with Jack and Betty which is only independent movie theater in Yokohama, and newly opened Yokohama Paradise Hall in Sep, 2010.
Its focus is on children, the young poor, the disabled and social minorities including non-Japanese living in Japan. Various projects have been launched based on the relationships between these people, including exhibitions, film screenings, cafés, parties, concerts and workshops. The issue of “survival” and the issue of “expression” are considered side by side and the question of what art can do in a context of a complex acial reality is explored and then put it into practice in everyday life.

◆Related Display of ART LAB OVA
Due to its characteristics as a port town, a culturally diverse city of Yokohama has a lot of non-permanent residents.
ART LAB OVA, which focuses on outsiders and performs wide range of activities, ran a workshop related to this exhibition using the similar method as that of flying-City for children living in Yokohama, whose roots were Japan, South Korea, China and Philippine etc.
On this exhibition site, the deliverables Elephant’s Fantastic Journey,the big cloth printed creatures on an unknown planet, which were built out of children's imagination from the theme, "Traveling in space as an elephant", will be displayed.
In ZOU-NO-HANA Terrace likened to Bio Mechanism Terminal, an symbolic creature, Perry is covered by the cloth printed creatures. It serves as a messenger to pass down invisible history of development and multilayer in Yokohama and may also be Bio Mechanism itself.
